La Habana de Hoy en Imagines
(Havana Today in Images)
Tower Theater
May 25, 2007 – June 3, 2007
This exhibition will display high-definition large-scale images of Havana taken in December of 2006. Given the considerable size and definition of the photographs, an unprecedented level of detail can be gleaned from the imagery.
The photographs are of buildings where the rich architecture and present conditions come to life, as well as of the surrounding environment – such as streets, people and ambiance. The exhibition will also contain books and multi-media presentations further describing the architectural history of the city.
The visitor will see in immense clarity and size present-day images of a city rich in architectural culture, a city to which many in the Miami community have social and familial ties.
The objective of the sponsors is to demonstrate the importance of digitally preserving the images of the architectural and cultural richness of Havana and of other cities and cultures throughout the world.
